Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

THIS COURSE IS RUNNING Course fees Full board £470 (food is superb see comments on the website) Non res with all meals £420 Non res with no food £380 The quality of our staff team is an excellent deciding factor when choosing a course provider. Our staff are current, well-practised and very experienced, not just as mountaineers in their own right, but also as trainers and assessors of the UK NGBs. In our view it is this key element that contributes enormously to delivering a top quality course. Our Mountain Leader courses are full board and based at the excellent Youth Hostels in Coniston.
