Award Description

The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.

Three day Hill and Moorland Leader Training course based around the Black Mountains. Covering all aspects of the syllabus as set out in the handbook. Delivered by our team of passionate and professional instructors who are all experienced in the delivery of the course and working within the scope of the scheme. The course will be based from the Black Mountain Lodge a 4* guest house. Tea, Cake and real Coffee is also included during the course. If you choose to stay with us the standard residential includes 3 nights comfy shared B&B accommodation, this means you can arrive the night before and relax. The Residential also includes a packed lunch every day of the course. There is a bar and restaurant on site serving locally sourced food and drink! Other residential options may be available so if you just wanted a single night, wanted to upgrade your room or go to full board then please speak to us to check availability.
