Award Description
The Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required for instructing mountaineering, including all aspects of summer rock climbing, including the coaching of lead climbing, and scrambling. It builds on the skills acquired in the Mountain Leader qualification, which candidates must hold. The Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor is an extensively used professional qualification.
This qualification was previously called the Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA).
Run by some of the UK's most experienced and knowledgable instructors. The course only fee includes your course plus equipment hire (if you need it), use of facilities (e.g. climbing wall, drying rooms, free WiFi etc.) and tea and cakes when you get in each day. The residential course fee includes all the above plus comfy en-suite accommodation and all your meals. Free pick up and drop off from Llandudno Junction Train Station also available at the start and end of your course.
