Award Description

Aim: To be able to plan and follow routes in forest, open countryside, hill & mountain environments.

2-day NNAS Gold training course, based at Grinton in Swaledale with Mark Reid, author of 'The Inn Way' guidebooks and Mountain Leader. Spend two days walking across the beautiful fells of the Yorkshire Dales, learning advanced navigation skills including detailed compass work and contour interpretation, poor visibility navigation, continuous location, route choice and navigation strategies plus much more. You must hold the NNAS Silver award to attend this course.
