Award Description
This award trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by an SPA holder will be roped climbing and bouldering. The SPA does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
The last chance to complete the SPA assessment before it changes over to the RCI. The fee includes the climbing wall entry. This two day assessment, including an evening session, will be based closely on the syllabus requirements. Assessment will include practical, written and verbal examination. The programme may be revised during the course to take account of weather and other considerations, whilst still completing the ethos and detail of the Single Pitch Award syllabus.
