Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
This is a 3 day training course for potential Rock Climbing Instructors who are registered with the scheme. Our committed, dedicated and enthusiastic climbers will help you learn the skills and tricks of the trade to becoming an instructor, able to take groups on outdoor and indoor venues, to set up bottom ropes, top ropes, abseils, run climbing wall sessions, bouldering sessions, provide a safe, enjoyable learning environment for your clients and help improve their climbing. The course will be spent in Snowdonia, North Wales and will have two days outdoors on some of the world class crags and one day spent in one of the excellent local climbing walls. You will have a chance to explore new techniques, use new equipment and engage in climbing with the opportunity to be improved personally and as an instructor to others.
