WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
Goal to practice navigation in poor visibility (night) to embed 6 D's of navigation. Suitable for all walking leaders trainees and award holders alike.

Lots of contour features to navigate to, in a lowland setting, which will help hone skills for any environment. Discussion on when to navigate and when not to over navigate. Destination, Direction, Distance, Duration, Description and Danger will all be covered in the navigation legs/discussion in each. 1.25 map primarily used, can look at 1:50 and implications/sublety in lowland setting.
Last ferry from Studland to Sandbanks is 10.45pm, for those on the B'mouth side of Poole Harbour.
Navigation step counting beads will be given to each attendee on the evening-might also be useful to download/print a orienteering map of the area as well.

OS Explorer 15 (Purbeck and South Dorset) 1:25, Head torch and clothing/kit suitable for a UK evening in early March.
