A full day out with an ML course director, helping you gain some further navigation knowledge and work towards attaining the standard to become an ML. 

Open to ML trainees consolidating towards assessment.

1 Day Workshop

Outline

• Meet and briefing

• Understand aims and objectives

• Leadership in the scheme – vision, support, challenge

• Coaching and broadening of knowledge towards navigation

• Demonstrating the ML standard

• Developing strategies and effective navigation techniques

• Working towards blind legs and relocation techniques 

• Getting a feel for assessment and what is expected 

• Debriefs, goal setting and individual feedback

EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

OL4 map covering Bessy Boot, Rosthwaite Cam and Glaramara

Silva Expedition Type 4 compass (recommended) 

Hill kit for a full day in the mountain day; 

• Waterproofs 
• Warm layers
• Hat and gloves 
• Walking boots

CATERING/FOOD

You will need to bring lunch, snacks and water for the day
