Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
About
The Climbing Wall Instructor assessment course is a one day event spent at the Beacon Climbing Centre.
There is an optional Abseil Module which runs after the first day into early eve (2hrs) and is an additional cost of £30.
To attend the course you'll need to have completed the CWI training (or RCI training and been granted exemption) and fulfilled the requirements below:

Attended training.

30 climbing wall sessions.

40 lead climbs.

15 sessions supervising.

Hold a valid first aid certificate.
- Abseil module - observed or assisted on a minimum of 5 abseil/top-rope sessions.
