Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
This is a split weekend course lasting 5 full days.
We meet at 7.30 pm on the Friday 6th June for an indoor session. We then have two days on 7/8th June
and after a weekend off in the middle of the course
We meet at 10 am on the Friday 20th June and have anther two days on 21/22nd June. These three days are the expedition.
Candidates need to have logged an absolute minimum of 40 QMD's see the definition below.
