The Association of Mountaineering Instructors Managing Safety Seminar
The AMI Managing Safety Seminar is a facilitative workshop aimed at raising awareness and understanding surrounding current safety trends within the outdoor industry and building on the incident reports received from the membership. It aims to promote a reflective approach to members own practice.
Aims
• To raise awareness of incident reporting and the AMI professional stand- ards processes
• To explore the influences on client and instructor safety whilst working in the mountains
• To explore areas where we can confirm or adapt our working practices to improve client/instructor safety.
Facilitated by Keith Ball AMI Chair of Professional Standards Committee.
Venue: The seminar will take place at Jagged Globe, Unit 4, 45 Mowbray Street, Sheffield, S8 9EN. (Front door opposite Jewsons)
Date: Sunday 7th December.
Time: 1pm to 4pm
Because of the relevance and importance of the workshop content in devel- oping the safety awareness of the membership, it will carry a full days core CPD point. The workshop is open to all full members and is strongly recom- mended for furthering personal development. You are welcome to attend more than one seminar but you will only be awarded a CPD point for the first one you attend in a three year period.
