Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

Come and join us for a relaxed and informative Mountain Leader Assessment set in both The Peak District and the Lake District National Park. 

During the six days we will visit some amazing locations and discuss its geology, history and wildlife.

The course will run 9am to 6pm each day but 3 of these days will be a overnight expedition.

29th - 31st August - The Peak District

26th - 28th September - South Lakes 

Cost is £420

Pre-Requisites

Before you book onto a Mountain Leader training course, make sure you have done the following:

• You must be registered on the scheme
• You must have recorded a minimum of 20 Quality Mountain Days (ideally on DLOG) which can have taken place at any point (pre- or post-registration)
