WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
A peer-led night navigation session using the 6 Ds—Destination, Direction, Distance, Duration, Description and Dangers—to build confidence in poor-visibility conditions. Following a pre-planned route, participants will practise contour reading and micro-navigation, making the most of the area’s subtle terrain features. Suitable for all walking award levels from Lowland Leader to Mountain Leader trainees and award holders.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Head torch, compass, 1 to 25,000 map and appropriate kit/clothing for a Winter night out.
