FUNdamentals of Climbing 2
The BMC FUNdamentals of Climbing 2 course is a primarily practical course covering “What to Coach”. Aimed towards climbing coaches, schoolteachers, and youth workers – anybody coaching somebody in climbing skills. The course is a requirement for the Mountain Training coaching pathway qualifications and for coaches delivering the NICAS schemes. It is also highly recommended for anybody working in a commercial climbing wall. The BMC FUNdamentals of Climbing 1 is a pre-requisite to this course.
Bring your climbing shoes and chalk (and harness and belay device if the centre allows roped climbing) and be ready to get on the wall. Don’t worry, you will not be expected to climb super hard but we find you get the most out of these courses by getting stuck in and having FUN! However, there is no requirement to climb, so if you are injured or would prefer not climb you are still very welcome to attend the course.
