Award Description
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.
The Lowland Leader qualification is a nationally recognised walking qualification designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside. The qualification is suitable for new or experienced hike leaders. You'll need to have registered with Mountain Training and have personal experience of lowland walking before booking on this training course. Over 2 days you'll be coached in all areas of the Lowland Leader syllabus including navigation, leadership, emergency procedures, access, conservation and environment. You'll benefit from learning in a supportive, relaxed way with chance for lots of questions and feedback to prepare you for next steps. We will be training in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside. This is a non-residential course so please arrange accommodation to suit you.
Before booking this course:
You must be at least 17 years old
You should have an interest in leading groups in lowland countryside
You must have created an account with Mountain Training and registered for the Lowland Leader qualification (cost: £65)
Before attending this course:
You must have recorded 10+ quality lowland days.
