WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
This one day course in Eryri/Snowdonia concentrates on the navigation section of the Mountain Leader syllabus. We will spend time re-capping skills and looking at different methods to suit different terrain. The day will focus on giving you strategies to keep things simple so that you are able to look after a group at the same time as navigating. By the end of the day I will be able to give you detailed feedback on where you are at in terms of being ready for assessment.
There will be a stong focus on contour interpretation but we will also look at use of the compass that is appropriate for the terrain and visibilty, methods of measuring distance and good strategy that will also apply to poor visibility navigation. For anyone who wishes, there will be opportunity to use different map scales.
There will also be opportunities throughout the day to add to your general knowledge.
