The Hill Skills course run by Leading Edge is your key to getting started in countryside and moorland walking. Maybe you do have some experience of hill walking but are unsure about some of the detail? Perhaps you are always out with others that know what they are doing, but you would like the skills to be actively involved in the planning, navigating and decision making? This is an ideal way to learn about all the equipment, understand and plan for the weather, become more competent and confident in your navigation and journeying techniques. These are a highly enjoyable three days, packed full of learning, practical hands (and feet) on experience and lots of fun. Leading Edge run a very relaxed, open and inclusive Hill Skills course, catering for the relative map novice all the way through to the self taught regular hill goer. You can expect to be out walking each day for around 4-5 hours this will be on footpaths or trails that are rough underfoot. Much of the journey during this Leading Edge Hill Skills course will involve learning opportunities and as such, the pace of the day is friendly and will include plenty of breaks. If you are keen to access the upland environment with more confidence and certainty then come and join us for three excellent days which will leave you skilled up, confident and inspired to get out and explore the wonders of our hills and valleys. We will meet at Petes Eats Cafe on the first morning where we will have an informal chat to start the course and then head for the hills.
