Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

Day 1 runs at Westway Climbing Centre in London, W10 6RP. (08.00- 16.45 & Abseil Continues to 19.45hrs)

Day 2 runs at the XC Centre in Hemel Hempstead, Jarman Park, HP2 4JS. (09.00- 16.15hrs & Abseil Continues to 19.30hrs)

Our meeting point for each day's action is in the cafe at each of the venues.

The XC is a great venue but it can be chilly at any time of year so make sure you bring enough clothes to stay warm.

The fee listed above is the standard CWI course fee without the abseil module. You can choose to book the standard CWI training on it's own, or add the abseil module as well.

When you book on this combined course the discounted additional fee for CWAI (Abseil Module) training is £60.00 instead of £90.00.

The Abseil module is delivered in 2 parts; from approx 16.30hrs each day.

Candidates not undertaking the CWAI (Abseil Module) training are politely requested to stay until the end of the day to act as participants for the abseil training candidates. We feel this is a good training experience for anyone, regardless of whether or not you are taking the abseil module yourself.

Each day should finish around 7.30/7.45pm for all candidates. (If for any reason you cannot stay after the standard CWI 'daytime' training, please let us know well before the course so we can plan accordingly for the abseil training sessions)
