Bowland Pennine MRT are hosting an MTA weekend, offering superb opportunities to practise ML skills alongside qualified team members, and take part in a MR training exercise. Come and put into practice your emergency procedures, and review your First Aid from the point of view of the rescue team. Meet and compare notes with other ML people, whether you are still qualifying or already hold the award. Great accommodation and food at the Team's Smelt Mill centre. This is the draft programme: FRIDAY Arrive Smelt Mill from 1800 onwards. Evening night navigation. SATURDAY Full day on the hill with the emphasis on group management, pacing, timings and party management and safety on Steep ground. Peer feedback. Back to Smelt Mill for around 1700. Dinner at 1900. Evening session to review the day. We hope to provide a speaker, and offer some guidance on using the DLog. We end the evening around the log fire, no doubt relaxing with a glass of the beer or wine you may have brought! SUNDAY Learn about the first aid kit which MR use, and the right kit for you to take as group leader. Talk to the team members about what to do till the rescue team arrives at a call-out. Later in the day there will be a search scenario getting groups out onto the hill treating multiple causalities followed by a stretcher exercise and a carry off. Finish around 1600. Clean and tidy the accommodation. Depart. CATERING The Team will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and the evening meal on Saturday. Participants will need to provide their own meal on Friday evening, either before arrival or using the centre's kitchen facilities. Participants will also need to provide their own packed lunches for Saturday and Sunday - the kitchens have ample fridge space.
