About

Moorland Ecology

This half day workshop forms part of a FREE CPD event organised by the Yorkshire Regional Team and led by experts in their fields. This is a great opportunity for members to get together, improve their awareness and practice and refresh their skills.

Spend a morning exploring the following topics:

  • Flora and fauna of an upland moor
  • The management of moorlands for grouse shooting
  • Moorland fires as a product of moorland management
  • The role of moorland in flood management
  • Plant succession on moorland
  • The carbon stores of moorland and climate change

What to bring: This is a half day workshop so bring snacks and drinks and dress appropriately for the weather, time of year and a day spent on the moorland.

Workshop provider: This session will be hosted by MTA member David Lyons BSc MSc of Lupine Adventure.

PLEASE NOTE: Please do not commit to this free workshop unless you are confident that you can attend. This is a free workshop and as such are always very popular. We are keen to ensure 100% turnout on the day.
