The 2018 Plas Y Brenin Environment Symposium for Mountain Leaders and Mountaineering Instructors will revolve around the theme: 'Be Inspired'. Following feedback from the 2016 Symposium we are going to dedicate the whole two day event to inspiring you about different aspects of the mountain environment and run outdoor workshops aimed at helping you to inspire the people you lead and instruct.
This two day workshop is eligible for 2 full CPD points wit the Mountain Training Association, the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, the Association of British International Mountain Leaders and the British Association of Mountain Guides.
Whilst aimed at those leading and instructing in the British hills and mountains this workshop is open to anyone with an interest in gaining more knowledge about the mountain environment and ways of inspiring others to appreciate and understand it more.
Lunch is included on both days for our non-residential customers as well as Plas y Brenin's famous cakes.

- Paul Gannon, The Geology of Snowdonia
- Jim Langley, Looking at nature in different ways
- Elfyn Jones, BMC Access and Conservation Officer Wales
These four, along with Mike Raine will then lead practical workshops followed by a plenary and round up of ideas.

Day Two
Speakers include
- Dr. Barbara Jones, The Upland Vegetation of Snowdonia
- Julian Hughes of the Welsh Ornithological Society. Looking out for Upland Birds
- Helen Pye, Chief Partnerhips Officer for Snowdonia National Park. Can National Parks help make our Nation happier?
These three speakers plus Mike Raine and Jim Langley will then run practical outdoor workshops on the theme of: How to teach, inspire and inform about the Environment. Followed by a plenary session with feedback from each workshop
