Award Description
The Expedition Skills Module is an optional module available to walking leaders. It's an opportunity to increase your skills where you will be trained and assessed to lead groups on multi day camping expeditions.
About
This module is designed as an addition to Mountain Training's Lowland Leader Award and Hill & Moorland Leader Award, for leaders who want to take groups on multi-day camping expeditions in terrain and conditions within the scope of their award
Delivered by experienced instructors over two days you will covers the following subjects:
- Expedition equipment
- Expedition food and cooking
- Expedition planning and leadership
- Training and supervising expedition groups
Our course starts at 1300 on day looking at equipment and getting packed for a short trip. We will camp over night with an evening session. The following day will be spent covering the rest of the syllabus concluded by 1700
