Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
About
This Climbing Wall Instructor training course will be Directed by one of the country's most experienced climbing tutors and will be held at two of the most popular climbing walls in North Wales.
During the two days Andy, and another very experienced climbing coach, will look at the skills, knowledge and experience required to provide fun, interesting and safe sessions to a range of students and clients in the climbing wall environment. For further details of the areas that the course will cover please look at the CWI Handbook and syllabus.
The Climbing Wall Instructor Abseil Module training will also be covered during the course so that candidates may cover this area at assessment if they wish to do so, and have gained the appropriate experience.
