Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

These courses are run by Pete Hill, one of the UK's foremost and best-known MTS-accredited course providers. We are proud of the positive results over the years and pride ourselves in the way in which our assessments are run.
Based in Grantown-on-Spey in the superb Cairngorm mountains, we have access to a variety of excellent training areas whatever the weather.
You can choose between course only or superb guest house B+B accommodation. There is also a bunkhouse that offers very good facilities.
