WORKSHOP CONTENT
A practical, Instructor-led workshop introducing and rehearsing the physiology, psychology and skills relevant to navigating at night: principally using map / compass skills and with reference to digital aids.
Once you have booked your place via an email, please, Andy will send you a BACS instruction to pay your fee. (£5 deposit and £10 fee).
Learning Outcomes
Develop understanding of the physiology and psychology of night vision and its limitations
Experience and rehearse activities which participants can use to introduce and improve navigation skills
Develop confidence in teaching navigation at night
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
All usual personal clothing and equipment for a hill-based walk inc. a personal or small group shelter and with particular attention to the possibility of early winter conditions (no ice axe/crampons required)

Andy Cloquet is a time-served MIC who has been working both in teaching and mountain sports for over 30years. He is a member of the Ochils MRT and has been their Training Officer for 7 years. This workshop has been delivered over the past four years and has become available to MTA as a result of its success amongst both experienced leaders and those wishing to develop their repertoir of teaching skills. This course is exclusive to MTA members at this price and is not advertised through the website.
CANCELLATION PROCEDURE
Please email or text Andy up to and including 0900hrs on the day of the workshop. Supply him with your BACS and you will receive a return of the fee. After 0900hrs you will forefeit the whole fee.
