Award Description
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.
All areas of the syllabus will be covered either prior to or durin the assessment.
In response to Covid 19 we will be using some online resources to cover some aspects of the syllabus far more than we normally would. This is to limit risks assocated with not folowing government and National Govening Body guidance and policy.
Areas of the syllabus to be assessed are as follows:
1 Leadership Skills and Group Management
2 Walking Skills
3 Planning a Walk
4 Basic Map Work and Route Finding Skills
5 Equipment
6 Hazards and Emergency Procedures
7 Environmental Awareness, Conservation, Access and Land Ownership
