This workshop will look at the skills and judgement required to manage two clients in a variety of mountain terrains up to grade 2/3 scrambles. It will cover an understanding of fundamental techniques, using as much graded ground as possible in both ascent and descent. There will be an emphasis on good judgement and decision-making as well as technical skill.

Main areas to be covered:

• Fundamental technical skills
• Route choice and route finding
• Walking, short roping and short pitching
• Stance management
• Decision making and judgement

Trainees should bring: 50m single rope, scrambling gear rack, personal climbing equipment, boots.

If you are a member of the Mountain Training Association (MTA) you will receive 1 CPD point for attending this workshop. Please note that as a trainee member of AMI you are not required to accrue CPD points, therefore this will not count as AMI CPD.
