Award Description
Our Rock Skills courses are designed to provide structured training opportunities for people who want to learn more and become independent climbers. There are three different levels so that complete beginners and those with more experience can choose the most appropriate starting point.

Join us n this 2 day learn to lead course based in the Peak District Derbyshire
On day 1 we'll cover a number of topics including use of guidebooks, access information,knot tying lead belaying. Try your hand at placing gear and building anchors and belays at the top of the crag.
The progression stages to lead climbing will be carefully managed taking into account your own attitude towards risk and risk management.
On day 2 a typical progession stages might be the use of a so called 'ghost rope' from above while you place protection being belayed as a leader.
The final part of the course will look at ... when you're ready - onsite leading.
All of these courses are person centred - we work with the aspirations of the individuals - we'll go at your speed - learn quickly or learn slowly it's your course.
