Andy has years (and years) of experience as a climber helping others to improve performance through coaching. This workshop is open to AMI full members and to a limited number of trainees if appropriate.
Aims:
To explore why and how bouldering can be used to support climbers.
Overview:
This workshop will be useful for colleagues who are interested in developing ways to improve the climbing technique of:
Beginners
Climbers transitioning from indoors to outdoors
Climbers learning how to lead
Climbers aiming to improve their performance
Activities:
Practical climbing activities and discussions
NB if the weather is very poor it may be better to rearrange.

Kit:
Climbing shoes
Mat
Carpet, towel and brush
Helmet – if you wear one for bouldering (personal preference)
Suitable outdoor clothing.
The workshop will be delivered by Andy Swann who is a keen climber. Andy is an MCI and also provides FUNdamentals of climbing workshops for the BMC/MScot, Mountain Training (MT) Coaching Scheme courses, MT RCDI courses as well as a variety of climbing and Mountaineering courses.
