This two day workshop is for people who are interested in the MIA award and would like to know more. The jump from Mountain Leader to the MIA can seem massive, the idea of these two days is to give you an insight and introduction to the many elements that are involved in the MIA. The focus will very much be on what being a Mountain Instructor is, looking at the combination of personal and professional skills to allow for the taking of people multi pitch climbing, roped scrambling and we will also look at some of the key building blocks of improvised rescue. We will get familiar with the generics of the award, in particular the decision making and risk assessing. The two days give you the opportunity to ask anything and everything you would like to know about the MIA. We hope to dispel some of the myths and give you a realistic idea of what is needed to get the most out of the MIA and see if it could be for you.
This workshop is for people who have their Mountain Leader qualification, are active rock climbers/mountaineers and are interested in the award but have not yet been on a MIA training course.
