WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
This workshop is designed for anyone who holds or is working towards any of the MT walking awards. It would also be useful for those holding higher awards who wish to become a course director of the Lowland Leader award.
The day will start with an indoor session during which we will discuss the issues that walk leaders typically have with combining navigating, group management, and trying to be engaging, all at the same time.
The workshop will be partly indoors and partly outdoors, local to Kirkby Stephen in the Eden Valley.
The workshop will focus on looking at proven skills that make it possible to navigate whilst also being attentive to your group. The day will involve further navigation training, as well as looking at group management, and developing a further interest in the environment and local history.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

Packed lunch. Notepad and pen. A camera may also be useful.
