This one day workshop looks at the planning and execution of effective remote supervision.
Subjects include: what is remote supervision; Our responsibilities as leaders; factors to consider; principles of effective remote supervision; assessing and managing risk; managing teams of supervisors.
The workshop will include practical exercises, scenarios and discussions mostly taken on the hill. Much of the content from this workshop has been used in the recent rewrite of the national guidance notes.
Please come prepared for a full day out on the hill.
Meet at: Online Session - 90 min evening session prior then - Princetown Visitor Centre Car Park, Princetown PL20 6QS for 1000. The workshop will finish by 1600.
Whilst aimed at qualified leaders of groups in the hills the workshop can be available to anyone involved in the remote supervision of groups. just drop me an email if you have any questions.

The workshop is delivered by Gavin Kelly, He is a Hill and Moorland Leader, Lowland leader and Expedition Skills Provider and delivers training and courses on behalf of the BMC. AMI SW rep and Technical Adviser. He has extensive experience of supervising groups for D of E and Ten Tors as well as other events and is a contributor to the 2016 Remote Supervision Guidance Notes.
