Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to develop rock climbers on single pitch crags, including teaching lead climbing. It builds on the skills acquired in the Rock Climbing Instructor, which candidates must hold to access the Rock Climbing Development Instructor scheme.
About
Rock Climbing Development Instructor assessment lasts for 3 days. Courses will be very practical and will likely include a mock-teaching day.
Requirements to attend:
- Attended training for Rock CLimbing Development Instructor (RCDI) or Mountain Instructor Award (MIA).
- 10 rock climbing teaching days with students.
- 30 additional VS 4c trad leads
- 30 additional f6a sport leads.
- Appropriate first aid training.
