Welsh words on a map can seem quite confusing if you don't understand what they mean and aren't too sure how to pronounce them. I'm first language Welsh and I have lived in North Wales for over thirty years. I love maps – and love the descriptive words which you can find on them! Come along for the evening, and we'll go for a leisurely stroll and a mini picnic whilst looking at the various words commonly used, what they mean (or might mean!) and how they can help you to understand the shape of the land or it's use. A few key words can be a helpful navigational aid and are also interesting discussion points with groups who you may be taking out into the hills.
If the weather is really horrible, this event will not go ahead as it wouldn't be much fun in the rain!
You just need to bring your personal hill kit.
