Understanding the triggering mechanism of avalanches.
Decision making in avalanche terrain.
Evaluating the avalanche risk "from a distance".
Observation and investigation of the environment.
Snowpack tests (CT, PST, ECT, etc.)
Appropriate levels of vigilance framework.
Probing & Digging.
Anybody registered in France with URSSAF will be able to apply for a refund of the teaching fees from FIFPL (please contact Neil for instructions on how to create an account with FIFPL if you haven't already done so).
The cost of the course is:
Teaching fees = 120€
Non-refundable admin charge (only if you are using FIFPL funding) = 30€
Additional costs:
Transport/food/lift-passes etc. are not covered by the teaching fee.
The course will run outdoors, but if the weather is not appropriate then Alain will do a theoretical class in a local venue (the emphasis is then placed on the analysis of avalanche accidents involving
professionals). In this case attendees will have to cover any additional costs.
The course is limited to 8 participants.
