Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
About
The Climbing Wall Instructor (formerly Climbing Wall Award) Assessment checks your competence in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. A Leading Edge assessment course is run in an relaxed and friendly style, we try very hard to ensure a positive performing environment is created.
We will meet at the Beacon Climbing Centre at 10am to start the course with an informal chat about the process and the timetable for the day. After the introductions are completed it is down to the wall to spend an enjoyable day with you demonstrating and working through all the key elements of being a Climbing Wall Instructor. We also offer the bolt on abseil module which can run straight after this course.
