Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
The event is run from the Hollowford Centre in Castleton. Accomodation and all meals provided for the 30 Sept, 1st and 2nd October.
The first 3 days of the programme will be delivered in the Peak District.
After breakfast on the morning of the 3rd October, transport is provided to Snowdonia where the remainder of the course is delivered.
This element of the programme is on a self catering basis. The night of the 3rd October we will staying in a campsite. Then undertaking a leightweight wilderness camping expedition on the 4th and 5th October.
