This full day workshop forms part of a CPD weekend supported by the South West Regional Team and led by experts in their fields. This weekend is a great opportunity for members to get together, improve their awareness and practice and refresh their skills.
There’s more to the birds we encounter on a day in the hills than just “Little Brown Jobs”. Join Alex on a guided walk and learn about the types of bird present in our hills, moorlands and mountains, with further opportunities to identify flora along the way.

This workshop is orientated towards anyone operating in the upland environment under a professional leadership context; award holders and trainees alike. However, it is also suitable for those wishing to simply increase their own personal understanding of birds.
Equipment to bring: Plenty of food and drink, binoculars, pen & notepad may be handy. Please dress appropriately for the weather and terrain.
Workshop provider: This session will be hosted by MTA member Alex Rhodes, an outdoor instructor and naturalist based in the South-West. He has a BSc in Zoology and holds the ML and RCI qualifications.

CANCELLATION PROCEDURE
This workshop needs a minimum of 4 bookings to run. Attendees will be notified of cancellations or changes to the workshop 1 week before the date of the workshop. Attendees will receive a full refund or will have the option to transfer their booking to another available date.
If you are unable to attend the workshop, if cancellations are received up to 6 weeks before the workshop you will receive a full refund; less than 6 weeks but more than 4 weeks before the course: 50% refund; less than 4 weeks before the course date: no refund will be issued.
