Avalanche Avoidance Training Day, Winter 2021
Open to anyone who is Winter Mountain Leader trained but have not yet been assessed or successfully passed.
COVID19 update - The trustees have reluctantly decided to cancel all physical face to face aspects of training that would involve travel to Nevis Range or Glenmore, due to the Covid restrictions throughout the UK. The trust is working on the 'possibility' of some form of online training and we will be in touch as soon as possible if we are able to implement this.
Training in avalanche hazard evaluation and decision making in avalanche terrain.
This important training, for anyone working in snowy winter terrain, is being sponsored by the Chris Walker Trust. The day will be run by Richard Bentley who can be contacted by email on richard@mountainmotion.co.uk. Richard is an approved MTS course provider.

Introductions and discussion -
Summary of pre webinar participant requests.
Informal discussion re snow and avalanche personal experiences.
SAIS presentation outlining Scottish mountain environment -snowpack and weatherchallenges and evaluation processes.
Session 2. 12:15 - 1:45/14:00.
Introduction to hazard evaluation scenarios.
Breakout groups with assigned exercises.
Evaluation of break out groups discussions and findings.
