WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

This workshop is aimed at members who are working toward an award or currently hold one, and would like a refresher. The evening will have a focus on dealing with incidents out on the hill, when things don't go as planned.

We will look at how we organise ourselves and groups, and look at potential ways of dealing with improvised carries, or ensuring we are warm and safe whilst awaiting professional help. The evening will also involve a small amount of night nav to get into and return from the venues used.

As always, aim to develop skills and knowledge in a friendly and relaxed learning environment.

EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

Usual hillwalking kit based on weather forecast, walking poles,shelters, survival bags would be useful. Own compass please. Maps are supplied.

WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS

We are an approved Mountain Training provider for various awards,including Lowland Leader and Mountain Leader Awards. We run courses on a regular basis.
