Award Description

The Expedition Skills Module is an optional module available to walking leaders. It's an opportunity to increase your skills where you will be trained and assessed to lead groups on multi day camping expeditions.

About

This module is designed as an addition to Mountain Training's Lowland Leader Award and Hill & Moorland Leader Award, for leaders who want to take groups on multi-day camping expeditions in terrain and conditions within the scope of their award. It may also be of value to Mountain Leader Award holders. Our Expedition Skills Module courses are held throughout the Pennines.

THE SYLLABUS

The Expedition Skills Module covers the following subjects:

Expedition equipment
Expedition food and cooking
Expedition planning and leadership
Training and supervising expedition groups

The course starts with an introductory session when your tutor will outline the plans for the next two days.
