This workshop is orientated towards anyone operating in the upland environment under a professional leadership context; award holders and trainees alike. However, it is also suitable for those wishing to simply increase their own personal understanding of birds and birdsong.
What to bring
Come suitably dressed for a morning on the hill with personal food and drink. Bring binoculars if you have them, a notepad and pen. We will be out for around 3-4 hours. An ‘aide memoire’ will be distributed electronically after the event.

Alex Rhodes is an outdoor instructor and naturalist based in the Peak District. His business Summit Sense takes a different approach to learning outdoors; incorporating environmental learning into traditional outdoor leadership & instruction. He has a BSc in Zoology, holds the ML and RCI awards and also works as a sub-consultant ecologist.
