WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
How do we create belayers who are genuinely skillful and able to hold falls autonomously as opposed to simply repeating a series of hand motions when supervised by an Instructor? This practical workshop will look at a simple prpogression and a few tools to give those teaching belaying options to develop independent belayers.
Ideal for: Those introducing climbing at walls, people working with NICAS groups, CWI/CWDI/RCI/RCDI/MCI/WMCI Trainees or Award holders to expand their toolbox.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Harness, belay plate, any assisted braking devices you want to discuss. Rock shoes if you want to climb (recommended). A pair of leather work gloves may also be useful.
CATERING/FOOD
Glasgow Climbing Centre has an excellent cafe.
