Award Description
This qualification is designed to enable coaches to be more effective in coaching the fundamental movement skills of climbing. Foundation Coaches will usually be concerned with the stimulating delivery of a single session to a group of individuals.

Please let us know at which indoor climbing wall you would like to be assessed at, plus if you would prefer a day time or evening practical assessment (2-3hrs in total).
You MUST have your D-log (up to date), coaching portfolio and session plans (see Appendix 2 MTUK Coaching scheme handbook) up loaded into D-log at least 4 weeks prior at the assessment start date. This gives opportunity for the assessor to read through your experience and session plans (that should include some reflective practice), providing the opportunity for the assessor and you to make any adjustments prior to the assessment date.
You MUST let us know if you have your own pair of novice climbers (to be coached) or you require Glenmore Lodge to provide novice climbers at least 4 weeks prior to the assessment start date.
