Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

Mountain Leader Summer Training

This course runs over 6 days and is based from our accommodation in High Close YHA, Langdale in the Lake District and is delivered by highly experienced and qualified staff in an enthusiastic, friendly learning environment (we have no control over the weather though).

Accommodation can be provided in individual rooms.

The price quoted is course only, however, there is the option to book an individual room at the hostel which for 2021 we will basically have exclusive use of the place.  Food is up to each individual to sourse to conform to current Covid-19 rules and restrictions.  Food for the expedition is not included in either of these prices but all administration is.  There are no other hidden costs.
