This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
All our SML courses at Falkirk will be directed by John Jackson (MIC).
Our central Scotland location means you can enjoy the mountains by day and still get back to your own bed at night.
We have an abundance of outdoor training venues to use, all within a short drive away from our centre. Transport from Falkirk each day will be in one of our centre minibuses (included in the course fee).
Our Base in Falkirk is located a short walk away from Falkirk train and bus station. Public transport runs regularly to Falkirk from all across Central Scotland including from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling.
If you have any questions about this course, then please feel free to contact John via the ‘enquire’ button, email or text.
Private courses are available for groups of 4 or more people on dates and locations to suit.
