This is a full day workshop looking at some skills and techniques for teaching navigation. The day will start at 10 am, with a theory session at the Black Mountain Lodge followed by practical opportunities to test out new skills and techniques in context. Tea and coffee will be provided in the morning, please ensure you bring a packed lunch and your normal kit for being out in the hills the course will finish at 4pm.
This workshop is aimed at anyone who is working towards or has completed one of the Mountain Training walking awards and is looking to develop their teaching skills. It will also be accredited as the “NNAS Tutor Award” Which means you may assist in the teaching of NNAS Bronze under the direction of an appropriate course director.
All NNAS award providers and their staff will have to attend this CPD-accredited course in order to continue to offer bronze-level NNAS courses.
The course is a mixture of indoor and outdoor practical sessions and offers the opportunity for candidates to discuss their own methodology as well as learning new techniques from others.
This workshop will be delivered by Will Kilner who is an approved provider for all of Mountain Training’s walking awards and for the Full range of NNAS courses.
