Award Description
The Hill & Mountain Skills scheme is a great way to develop your personal skills and confidence in all elements of hill and mountain walking. From planning a coastal walk to navigating in complex terrain, these courses are an ideal opportunity to learn the basics and enjoy the countryside. THIS IS NOT THE HILL AND MOORLAND LEADER SCHEME.
About
Join Lupine Adventure for a Mountain Skills course based in Ambleside in the Lake District. Your course tutor is Andy Godfrey. Andy is an experienced Winter Mountain Leader with nearly 30 years experience playing and working in the outdoors. This 2 day (18 hour) course will cover; Planning of Mountain Walking Routes, Walking Skills (pace, footwork, movement on steep ground), Clothing and Equipment, Weather, Navigation in the Mountains, Environmental Knowledge, Hazards and Emergency Procedures. We run this course with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 6. We set our maximum at 6 participants per course because we believe that this ensures that you the participant have plenty of individual attention and coaching. This course costs £89 per person.
