The Hill & Mountain Skills scheme is a great way to develop your personal skills and confidence in all elements of hill and mountain walking. From planning a coastal walk to navigating in complex terrain, these courses are an ideal opportunity to learn the basics and enjoy the countryside. THIS IS NOT THE HILL AND MOORLAND LEADER SCHEME.

Summary:
This full 2 day course covers navigation, equipment, rope work and survival techniques that are vital to reaching your summit and getting back down safely. Whether you're new to this world or an experienced hill walker, these sessions are designed so that everyone improves upon or learns new skills.
Who's this for?
Anyone looking to start their journey into mountaineering. No previous experience necessary.

At the end of these 2 days we aim for you to feel confident navigating and looking after yourselves in summer mountain environments.
Kit needed:
Some kit can be provided, a kit list will be sent after booking confirmation.
Itinerary:
Our start time and meeting point is 9:30am at The Moel Siabod Cafe.
Most of the mountains are within walking distance, however occasionally we use some further away which are best suited for the course. Your own transport is advantageous however sharing lifts and car pooling can be arrange if we visit a slightly further away location. We will advise you if your instructor is planning on using a location further away before starting the course.
