Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
This Rock Climbing Instructor training course will be Directed by one of the country's most experienced climbing tutors and will use the crags and climbing walls of North West Wales to consider the skills, knowledge and abilities required to lead climbing novices on both outdoor crags and indoor climbing walls.
During the three days Andy, and another very experienced climbing coach, will guide candidates through the syllabus working towards providing fun, interesting and safe sessions to a range of students and clients in the rock climbing and climbing wall environments. Due to rearranged dates the course will actually run on the 14th, 15th and 17th September - the days break being unavoidable.
The course will be based at the iconic venue of Pete's Eats, Llanberis and will use crags and walls in the local area.
